What is PAMO ?
The Pan African Mathematics Olympiads (PAMO) are prestigious event of the African Mathematics Union (AMU) organized each year in an African Country where the best pupils in Mathematics of the Secondary Education who are less than twenty (20) years old, are invited to compete. While emulating the African Youth, it contributes to integration and allows the AMU to detect new talents in Mathematics in order to secure a changeover of quality.

PACOM 2013 : NEW AMU Executive Committee Members : The AMU General Assembly meeting took place in Abuja, Nigeria on the 30th June 2013. Several delegates from various countries in Africa participated in meeting. The following are the newly elected AMU Executive Committee members for the period of 2013-2017.

PAMO 2013 :
The 22th Pan African Mathematics Olympiads (PAMO) will take place from 22 June to 02 July 2013 in Abuja, Nigeria.
Each delegation has four (04) contestants and a professor who is head of delegation.
Countries are invited to confirm their participation to the President of PAMO Commission by official letter before 10 May 2013.

Symposium of Abidjan on PAMO :
PAMO Commission the African Mathematics Union (AMU) organized from 29 March to 6 April 2013 in Abidjan, in collaboration with Société Mathématique of Côte d'Ivoire and the Felix Houphouet-Boigny University of Cocody, a symposium on the Mathematics Olympiads.
This symposium aims to strengthen the capacity of trainers of African contestants in Pan African Mathematics Olympiads (PAMO) and International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO).

IMO 2014: South Africa will be hosting the 55th International Mathematics Olympiad  at University of Cape Town in July 2014, South Africa. This is the first time that this very important event will take place in African continent. The IMO is the world championship of mathematics. The African Mathematical Union (AMU) will like to encourage all African countries to participate actively in IMO 2014 by registering their delegates for the event. Young Scientists Networking Conference on Integrated Science: The International Council for Science (ICSU), the German Research Foundation (DFG), and the International Social Science Council (ISSC) are inviting applications for participation by young scientists. 
The conference will take place in Villa Vigoni, the German-Italian Centre for Cultural and Scientific Exchange at Lake Como in Italy, from 14-19 April, 2013. The aim is to bring together creative multidimensional, interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary perspectives to address such a complex topic like food systems. EU funded ACP Science & Technology II Programme:  Here are some pertinent issues related to this Call:
- It will provide grant funding of€ 300,000 - € 1,000,000 to selected projects with a duration of 12-36 months.
- Projects must be implemented by partners from at least two different ACP countries.
- The priority areas are energy access and efficiency and agriculture and food security.
- The deadline for applications is 7 February 2013.

IMU BERLIN EINSTEIN FOUNDATION FELLOWSHIPS: The International Mathematical Union and the Einstein Foundation Berlin offer fellowships to PhD students and researchers primarily from developing countries. Selected fellows will be invited for a research visit to the lively mathematical environment of the Berlin Mathematical School.
Application are invited for research visits to Berlin lasting from THREE to NINE months. Application must be received at least six months before the desired starting date. The selection committee will meet every three months to award fellowships;

DELTA Conference 2013 Announcement: The 2013 conference will be held at the Pavilion, in the coastal town Kiama, in New South Wales, Australia, 24 to 29 November 2013. The conference theme is, Shining through the fog encapsulates the challenges faced by those with responsibilities for building the mathematics and statistics capacity needed for the 21st century. The following are important dates:
* March 25:  Final date for submission for full referred papers in the special edition of iJMEST
* August 21: Final date for submission of full papers for the Conference Proceedings

IMO: The 53rd International Mathematics Olympiads took place in the city of Mar del Plata, Argentina from 04 to 16 July 2011. Six (6) African countries participated in this competition : Côte d'Ivoire, Morocco, Nigeria, South Africa, Tunisia and Uganda.
